Synopsis

Frances (Moretz) finds a handbag on the New York subway and promptly returns it to the address found inside. Greta is an eccentric French piano teacher who loves tea and craves company. Having recently lost her mother, Frances soon becomes friends with Greta but when Greta's behaviour starts to become disturbing, Frances struggles to disentangle herself from Greta’s toxic grasp.

Subtitled screenings provide a transcription of the audio from a film, displayed at the bottom of the cinema screen, to benefit people who are hard of hearing. Along with the dialogue from the film, the subtitles include non-dialogue audio such as "(sighs)" or "(door creaks)".
