We are aware that attending standard film screenings can be a challenge for some people. We therefore welcome people of all ages, abilities and needs to enjoy these specially designed inclusive screenings. We welcome family members and carers too!

We offer a variety of screenings including:

  • Relaxed Screenings – These events offer a more relaxed approach to the standard cinema experience. Seats are not allocated (even with advanced bookings), so it is first come, first served. Wheelchair users have priority over the front row and lights are also kept on at a low level. There is also an acceptance of increased levels of noise and movement in the auditorium during these screenings. In association with Thumbs Up Club.

  • Subtitled Screenings - Subtitled screenings provide a transcription of the audio from a film, displayed at the bottom of the cinema screen, to benefit people who are hard of hearing. Along with the dialogue from the film, the subtitles include non-dialogue audio such as "(sighs)" or "(door creaks)".

  • Tea & Biscuits Matinee - Join Wyeside for a 'tea and biscuits' matinee. Enjoy the pleasure of the cinema, a free cuppa with friends, and be home before dark...

For the hearing and visually impaired, we offer a wireless device to enable you to enjoy the majority of our screenings.

For the hearing impaired it provides amplification via headphones on which you can adjust the volume (we provide headphones, but you are welcome to bring your own). For the visually impaired these devices provide audio description (audio description availability dependent on the film company. We advise calling ahead to confirm).

If you feel these screenings may hamper your enjoyment of the film, you may prefer to attend an alternative screening. Please ask a member of staff for more information.

Please be aware that events listed start at the advertised time. Any adverts will be shown beforehand.
